A popular Fife music festival, cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, plans to beat the lockdown by broadcasting a series of live performances online.
Organisers of Langtoun Jazz Festival, which was scheduled to take place in venues across Kirkcaldy later this month, have secured over 30 acts to play live with gigs set to be broadcast on social media and on Key107FM Radio, whose studio is based in the town.
Festival secretary, Grace Black, said the idea had been inspired by other music events being performed to a virtual audience.
She added: “We are delighted that almost a dozen of the acts booked for the festival are recording performances for us, and in fact the event has grown far beyond the original programme and more than 30 artists are now going to take part.”
And as well as delighting jazz fans, the festival will be supporting Kirkcaldy Foodbank with online viewers able to make donations to the charity.
Performances will be broadcast between 7pm and 10pm on June 25 an 26, with two sessions each on June 27 and 28 between noon and 4pm and again from 6pm – 10pm. All performances will be broadcast on Facebook and YouTube.
