The Rotary Club of Anstruther is motivating fundraisers to get active and boost the education prospects of local school children.
It has launched an “Exercise to Educate” challenge to help buy tablets and other equipment for youngsters at Waid Academy and East Neuk primary schools.
Club president Ian Brunton said: “Normally at this time of year, The Rotary Club of Anstruther and the East Neuk hold their annual coastal charity walk. Funds raised normally go to local charities and others close to the heart of the participants.
“Due to Covid-19 it has not been possible to stage the walk this year, therefore in conjunction with Waid Academy we are challenging previous walkers, friends, pupils, teachers, family and their pets to do some form of exercise, while socially distancing of course.”
Participants are asked to make a donation and complete an activity, which could be anything from running to gardening, and then nominate two others to do the same.
Mr Brunton added: “We plan to donate any monies raised to the East Neuk Community Planning Team who are purchasing tablets, printers, paper, ink cartridges and other items in order to facilitate teaching at home for some learners at both Waid and primary schools in the East Neuk.”
