Police and a team of forensic officers swooped on a house in Glenrothes as the search continued for the person responsible for raping an 83-year-old pensioner in the town.
Heimdal Gardens in the Collydean area of the town was sealed off for several hours on Tuesday afternoon as white-suited forensic officers continued scouring the property.
The street is near to where the attack took place.
A man arrested 24 hours after the attack has since been released and eliminated from the inquiry as investigating officers continue to hunt the attacker.
A spokesman for Police Scotland, said: “Officers carried out a search of Heimdal Gardens in Glenrothes during the afternoon of Tuesday, June 30 in relation to the ongoing investigation into a serious sexual assault at Meldrum Court in the town on Thursday, June 25.”
“Inquiries remain ongoing and anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 0647 of 25 June, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
