Two Fife teachers have been given extra special send-offs by pupils, parents and fellow staff as they retired.
Jenny Adamson, head teacher at Kettle Primary, was taken to the school for the last time by a horse and cart, with the streets lined with people at distance giving her a well deserved round of applause.
Mrs Adamson started teaching in 1980, taught at Pitteuchar West Primary in Glenrothes for 10 years, Capshard Primary in Kirkcaldy for five years as assistant head teacher, Sinclairtown Primary in Kirkcaldy for 10 years as depute head teacher and Kettle Primary for 14 years as head teacher.
Local parent Lisa Stirling said: “She will be greatly missed at Kettle. She was so dedicated to her job.
“She will be a head who will always be remembered.”
The community also said a fond farewell to nursery teacher Jean Scott, who has worked in Kettle Nursery for 30 years and taught many local families.
Mrs Adamson was presented with a commemorative clock, hand made by a pupil’s father, and Mrs Scott was presented with a bouquet of flowers.
