A major search and rescue operation was conducted at a Fife beauty spot after police, fire crews and specialist water recovery teams were scrambled in the early hours of this morning.
A number of police vehicles and fire appliances were despatched to Lochore Meadows Country Park at around 3.30am this morning to assist in the emergency.
Specialist water rescue and rescue and recovery teams from Glenrothes and Perth were also in attendance.
A spokesperson for Scottish Fire & Rescue Service, said: “We were alerted to assist police in an emergency at Lochore Meadows at 3.31am on Thursday, July 23.
“Crews from Lochgelly and Kirkcaldy fire stations were despatched as well as water rescue units from Glenrothes and Perth to assist in the search.
“Officers conducted a searched the loch and islands before being stood down at 5.42am.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson, said: “Around 3.30am on this morning (Thursday) police received a report that a man may have entered the water at Lochore Meadows Country Park.
“Emergency services attended however there was no trace of anyone and nothing at this time to suggest anyone has entered the water.
“Enquiries are continuing to trace the man involved to ensure that he is safe and well.”
