Limited browsing will return to Fife libraries next week.

Members will be able to return to various ONFife venues from Wednesday, with restrictions in place.

Only a limited number of people will be allowed in buildings at one time, meaning a queuing system and physical distancing.

ONFife has issued a ‘last orders’ call to borrowers who have used the Connect and Collect service in recent weeks.

Nearly 3,000 requests were submitted for a ‘lucky dip’ bag of books which could be collected from library doors or entrances, and more than 20,000 books have been issued in a three-week period.

June Souter, libraries service development manager, said the final date for orders would be this Sunday.

“As we continue to emerge out of lockdown, Connect and Collect has been a great way for members to engage with their local library again and enjoy bags of books selected for them by staff,” she said.

“However, we also know that much as they’ve loved the service, members are also very keen to get back to browsing for books themselves – and we’re looking forward to welcoming them back into the branches.”

While Connect and Collect will end at ONFife branches, it will still be available at the Fife Council integrated service branches of Leven and Methil until further notice.

Updates and more information about re-opening can be found at www.onfife.com.
