A road in Fife was closed for about six hours after a car crashed into a wall on Friday morning.
A 61-year-old man was taken to hospital in Edinburgh after the incident on the A985 Cairneyhill to Kincardine road at 5.35am.
Police say he suffered “serious” injuries.
The road was closed between Cairneyhill Roundabout and the Kincardine junction as police investigated the collision.
Sergeant Alastair Purvis, of Fife’s Road Policing Unit, said: “This was a serious collision and we are looking for anybody who was driving on the road or witnessed the incident to contact police.
“In particular, if there were any vehicles in the area at the time that may have dashcam footage that could help officers, I would ask that you get in touch.”
Earlier a Police Scotland spokesman aid: “Around 5.35am on Friday, July 31 officers received report of a one car road crash on the A985 between Cairneyhill roundabout and Kincardine Bridge.
“Emergency services attended and the 61-year-old male driver has been taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.”
Bus services were diverted due to the road closure.
