A 23-year-old man has died in a crash on one of Fife’s busiest roads.
Police were called to the collision involving a silver Honda Civic on the A92 Dundee to Kirkcaldy road, between the Bankhead and Redhouse roundabouts, on Thursday at about 11.35pm.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The A92 was closed for about seven hours as police carried out a collision investigation.
Officers are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Sergeant Ewan Pearce of the Glenrothes Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of the man who sadly lost his life in this tragic incident.
“I am asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or the vehicle prior to the crash, to contact us if you have not already done so.
“We are also asking anyone in the area at the time to review their dashcam footage for anything relevant that could assist with our investigation.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact officers by calling 101 and quoting incident 4348 of August 6, 2020.
