A Fife man is planning to run all over the region this weekend to raise money for the Kingdom Kids charity.
Lee Bryce, from Leven, will set off from Inverkeithing High School at 8am on Saturday and is planning to take in all 18 of Fife’s high schools in the space of just 24 hours.
That should cover a staggering 109 miles before the finish line at Balwearie High School in Kirkcaldy and Lee hopes to do the entire challenge within a day.
A Justgiving page has been set up so members of the public can support Lee and help boost the coffers of DC Thomson and Kingdom FM’s Kingdom Kids charity, which raises and distributes funds to groups supporting underprivileged and disadvantaged youngsters throughout the region.
“The idea really came about through the lockdown,” Lee explained.
“I’ve been out running every day going with my fiancée to her work and running home, as well as a lot of different routes ranging from 5k up to 30k.
“I thought: ‘If I could do all this running, can I not have a sort of focus?’
“Any difference I can make to anybody, any kids, to help their future, is the reason I’m doing this.”
Lee’s effort will start in Inverkeithing and head eastwards up to the East Neuk and St Andrews before running back towards Kirkcaldy and the finish on Sunday.
“If I can do it in 24 hours straight and it’s not too dangerous, then great.
