A 28-year-old man has been charged in connection with a road crash and an alleged ‘slashing’ in Fife which resulted in another man being taken to hospital.
Police officers were called to the incident in Annandale Gardens in the Macedonia area of Glenrothes at about 4.15pm on Tuesday afternoon.
The victim was taken to Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital for treatment for what are believed to be slash wounds to his face.
A 28-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident and is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
The force say they were initally alerted to reports of a car crash and a serious assault on a 44-year-old man.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.15pm on Tuesday, 8 September, officers were called to the Annandale Gardens area of Glenrothes following reports of a car crash and the serious assault of a 44-year-old man.
“The victim has been taken to hospital for treatment.
“A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.”
