A stretch of the A92 through Fife was closed overnight after a road accident.
Witnesses reported seeing numerous police, fire and ambulance crews rush to the section of the westbound carriageway near Lochgelly at around 10pm on Saturday night.
Police have yet to confirm details of any casualties.
However, it is feared at least one motorist may have sustained serious injuries.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it sent three appliances to the scene and crews were involved in making the scene safe.
The westbound carriageway remained closed between Lochgelly and Cowdenbeath on Sunday morning.
Traffic Scotland confirmed the road had reopened at around 1.20pm.
