One of Scotland’s oldest golf clubs will celebrate its 200th anniversary next year with an exhibition at the British Golf Museum.
The St Andrews Thistle Golf Club, which will also host a series of commemorative matches, is seeking historic documents, photographs and anecdotes to include both in the exhibition and in a new book.
The club, established by a small group of golfing fanatics in the days when cleeks, machies and hickory shafts were at the cutting edge of equipment design, now has 25 national and international members.
Anyone who can help with the exhibition is asked to email the chairman of the 200th anniversary sub-committee, Jim Knox at jimk1509@talktalk.net.
