Six people have been arrested after police seized £4,000 of drugs and a number of offensive weapons in Fife.
Heroin, valium, cannabis and suspected amphetamine was found during raids in the Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes and Levenmouth areas this week.
A samurai sword, knuckledusters and a crossbow were also recovered during the searches.
Officers said six people are in police custory and will be reported to the procurator fiscal for misuse of drugs offences.
The search warrants were issued as part of a national day of action tackle “county lines” drug distribution across Scotland.
This is a term used when drug gangs from big cities expand their operations into smaller towns, often using violence to drive out local dealers and exploiting young and vulnerable people to sell drugs.
Police said this often involves taking over local addresses occupied by vulnerable people – known as cuckooing – child criminal exploitation, human trafficking and violence.
“Vulnerable individuals are forced to transport cash and drugs all over the country, so that the criminals behind them can remain detached and ultimately less likely to be caught,” they said.
