Fire crews tackled a huge blaze at Coaltown of Balgonie on Sunday evening. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said a pile of tyres as large as 40 metres by 20m had gone on fire. Smoke from the giant fireball could be seen for miles. Three appliances arrived at the scene initially. Crews on the ground radioed for more help shortly before 9pm and three more engines were deployed. Click here for a full photo gallery It is understood nobody was hurt in the incident.
