Emergency services – including an air ambulance – have been in attendance at a three vehicle accident in Fife.
The crash happened shortly before 1pm on the A915 St Andrews Road, near to the South Feus junction, and involved a Fiat Panda, Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa.
Police, ambulance and fire service personnel were called to the scene, near to the entrance of the Upper Largo Hotel, and Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) from Perth was also summoned to provide assistance.
A spokesperson for the SCAA confirmed that one man had been airlifted to Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital for further treatment, but the extent of his injuries were unknown.
However, they are not thought to be life threatening.
The road was closed in both directions, causing lengthy traffic queues in the surrounding areas.
Bus services were also being diverted while the recovery of the vehicles got under way.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said two appliances from Methil, one from Glenrothes and one from Dundee were in attendance, although they were said to be just assisting the ambulance service.
