A 41-year-old rammed a banana up the exhaust pipe of his estranged wife’s car as part of a stalking campaign after she left him.
George Heggie also blocked her driveway, removed a number plate from her car and put a chain over the wheel after she moved back in with her parents.
Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard Heggie, 41, of Carden Avenue, Cardenden, began turning up at her parents’ home and also her place of work in Cupar.
He admitted engaging in stalking behaviour between March 7 and April 1 last year, which caused his former partner fear and alarm.
He also admitted assaulting the woman between October 1 and November 30.
Sheriff Macnair imposed a community payback order with two years of supervision, a seven-month restriction of liberty order and a two-year non-harassment order.
