A Dunfermline man who head-butted a doorman outside a town centre bar has been hit with a £600 penalty.
David Flockhart, 32, of Juniper Grove, admitted that on February 26 at Monty’s, Guildhall Street, he assaulted Thomas Davies, by butting him on the head to his injury.
Defence agent Elaine Buist said her client had been out with friends and there had “shouting and name-calling” from a younger group.
Her client had felt “surrounded and took steps to defend himself” she added.
“Unfortunately for him the person he hit was a doorman who was just doing his job”
Sheriff Craig McSherry fined Flockhart £300 and ordered him to pay £300 compensation.
