Plans have been submitted to Fife Council to extend outdoor seating at The Adamson on South Street, St Andrews, by incorporating timber bar huts and a marquee.
The plans from applicant Ken Dalton include the creation of two “Christmas market-style” huts to act as a bar servery, and the creation of a 3x10m marquee to seat a maximum of 12 people.
Barrels would be placed outside for customers to put their drinks on.
The proposed location for the huts is at the eastern front of the restaurant with the marquee extending to the road area on South street. Access points to The Adamson would be maintained.
Mr Dalton said the proposed development is “to allow social distancing and to offset reduced capacity inside the venue”.
According to planning proposals, the marquee site could cover up to seven parking spaces on South Street. Temporary planning permission has already been granted for three of these spaces.
