Police Scotland launched an investigation into the incident.
No further action is to be taken after a pedestrian was involved in a collision with a marked police car in Kirkcaldy on Thursday, it has emerged.
An investigation was carried out after the incident in East Fergus Place at around 12.30pm, after which a male pedestrian was taken to Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital for further treatment.
However, Police Scotland said it was “satisfied” that the driver of the police car involved had acted appropriately – with no disciplinary action planned.
Local Inspector Graeme Neill said: “After speaking with a number of independent witnesses and carrying out a robust collision investigation at the scene we are satisfied that the driving practices of the officer involved were appropriate.
“Our inquiries into this matter have now concluded and no further action will be taken.
“Fortunately, the male pedestrian has since been discharged from hospital having received treatment for minor injuries.”
The road was closed off for a time while paramedics treated the casualty at the scene.
