VIDEO: Residents flee home as cottage gutted by fire in Fife

Residents have had to flee their Fife cottage after fire ripped through the building.

The property at Strathenry Mill, west of Leslie, has been gutted in the blaze which took hold on Thursday afternoon.

It is understood two men who were living at the property managed to escape from the single storey building.

One of the men sustained injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

His condition is not known. However, it is understood he managed to walk to the ambulance.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said four appliances and a height appliance were sent to the scene shortly before 3pm.

Fire fighters remained at the scene throughout the afternoon.
