Family and friends of a young Fife father who suffered stab wounds following an incident at the weekend have welcomed news he is on the mend.
George Courts, 22, was rushed to Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital after being involved in a disturbance outside the Premier Store in Lochgelly’s Francis Street on Saturday night.
It is understood Mr Courts sustained stabbed during the altercation and needed emergency treatment by doctors in the hours that followed.
Scores of well-wishers have been in touch with the family over the last 48 hours to offer their messages of support, and his partner Carmen Whyte confirmed that Mr Courts was awake and is “on the mend”.
Two teenagers, aged 16 and 19, were arrested and charged in connection with the incident and the pair are due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
