Councillors in Glenrothes have heard that good progress is being made with new build affordable housing in the area.
The target is 197 new affordable homes by 2017 and figures suggest 126 homes are complete, with 28 more starting on site this year.
Fife Council’s executive committee agreed to bring forward plans for a Phase 3 Affordable Housing Programme from 2017-19 which should address any shortfall from previous phases.
Area chair Bill Brown said: “It’s vital that we continue to invest in more desperately needed, good quality affordable housing.
“Not only are these new homes transforming the lives of the tenants who move into them, it’s freeing up their old homes for rent to others in housing need too.”
