A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with a head injury after an incident near an overpass in Fife.
He was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy with what was believed to be a serious head injury after being assaulted in the area of the Lochgelly overpass which crosses the A92.
The overpass carries the B9149 over the dual carriageway to a roundabout, linking it with the southbound Lochgelly slip road.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a serious assault at a roundabout near the B9149 at the A92, Fife, around 10.25pm on Saturday, October 24.
“A 27-year-old man was taken to Victoria Hospital with what was believed to be a serious head injury. He has since been released.
“Inquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 4140 of 24 October 2020.”
Witnesses reported seeing intense police activity, with multiple marked vehicles at the scene on Saturday night.
It is understood the Lochgelly slip road from the southbound carriageway of the A92 was temporarily closed while officers attended the scene.
