Police in Fife are hunting a motorist who fled from the scene after the van in which they were driving crashed head on into two parked vehicles.
The hit-and-run incident, which was captured by CCTV belonging to a local hair salon, happened in Main Street, Lochgelly, shortly after 1am on Friday.
Footage of the crash, above this article, captures the dramatic moment the vehicle ploughs head on into the first of two stationary vehicles, bringing the van to a standstill.
It’s still unclear whether the driver suffered any injuries in the crash before they fled, but it is understood no one else was injured in the incident.
Shops and businesses in the immediate area also escaped unscathed.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland, said: “Around 1.15am on Friday, November 6, police were called to a report of a car having struck two parked vehicles in Main Street, Lochgelly.
“The driver of the car made off from the scene prior to police arrival.
“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 0217 of Friday, November 6.”
