Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was assaulted in Kirkcaldy at the weekend.
A 16-year-old boy has been left with a serious facial injury after he was attacked by a group of men on the town’s Birnam Road at around 7pm on Saturday.
Officers are now urging anybody with information that can assist them with their enquiries to get in touch.
Sergeant Jimmy Adamson, of Kirkcaldy police station, said: “The young man was walking on his own when he was approached by a group of males.
“He was subjected to an unprovoked attack, which left him with a serious facial injury.
“We know that the area was busy with people visiting shops and attending an event at a local pub and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch with us.”
