Police have launched an investigation following the sudden death of a woman at a block of flats in Fife.
Officers were called to a property in Westfield Avenue in Cupar on Wednesday following concerns raised by a member of the public.
Police activity has continued at the building since the discovery, with forensic experts seen entering the property on Friday afternoon as the investigation into the circumstances of the woman’s death continue.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Officers were called to an address in Westfield Avenue, Cupar at 6pm on Wednesday, November 18, following the sudden death of a 49-year-old woman.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing.
“Her next of kin have been made aware.
“A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
