One of Fife’s most popular tourist destinations has been given a spring clean ahead of its annual influx of visitors.
The wall at Burntisland Links has been repainted as the town gears up for a busy programme of summer events.
The huge promenade wall is one of the seaside town’s most iconic features, running the length of the hugely popular waterfront.
The painting work has been carried out by court-ordered community payback workers as part of their sentence.
The work has been welcomed by local councillor George Kay, who said that community payback work has helped to transform the area.
He said: “I am extremely grateful to the payback team who have helped us prepare for our visitors over the coming months.
“It is not an easy task to freshen 400 metres of wall.
“Yet again payback have rise to the task and have allowed us to proceed with a project which we probably could not have contemplated using main stream resources.
“We look forward to other facelifts being undertaken in other parts of the ward.”
Burntisland will host a particularly busy summer schedule this year.
As well as the annual Highland Games, Burntisland will also welcome visitors from its Norwegian twin town of Flekkefjord next month to mark 70 years of cross-continental friendship.
