A lorry driver has been taken to hospital after his vehicle hit a railway bridge in Inverkeithing.
The accident, involving a heavy vehicle belonging to Perth-based recycling firm Binn Group, happened in Hope Street on Wednesday morning.
After hitting the bridge, the lorry overturned, blocking the road, and traffic was diverted.
Binn Group confirmed one of its staff had been taken to hospital.
The driver is believed to have injured his arm and his condition was said to be not life threatening.
No other vehicles were involved and there were no other casualties.
Rail services crossing the Forth Bridge were delayed until around 1pm.
Binn Group managing director Brian Harkins said: “At this point, we are unsure as to the root cause of the incident.
“We are working with police and ambulance services to try to establish exactly what happened.
“We will report further on the matter in due course.
“We have three or four personnel from the management team at the site including a traffic manager and a health and safety manager.”
Police and ambulance were called to the scene at around 11.45am.
They requested assistance from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, which deployed three appliances from Dunfermline.
