A gunman remains at large following a shooting incident in a Kirkcaldy suburb.
A house and a car in the town’s desirable Seafield area were sprayed with bullets on Thursday night by an unknown perpetrator.
Though nobody was hurt, the incident in Craigfoot Walk shocked the local community with police having stepped up patrols in the area throughout the weekend to reassure residents.
The shots were fired at the home of businessman Mohammed Javaid, with bullet holes visible in a door frame as well as in a car parked on the property’s driveway.
It is understood that the home is often let out by Mr Javaid, who operates a private hire firm in the town, and it is not known who was in the property at the time of the shooting.
There was no answer when The Courier tried to contact the house.
One neighbour claims to have witnessed a hooded man running from the scene and an appeal for information has been reissued as officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Thursday’s dramatic events.
Anybody with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
