Fife’s coastal communities have been encouraged to bid for a share of £90 million made available to support economic development across Scotland.
The Coastal Communities Fund, which is financed by revenues earned from the Crown Estate’s marine activities, has already invested more than £120 million in coastal projects across the UK.
Now more money has been announced, and Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Liz Smith wants Fifers to bid for funding.
“The Fife coast has enormous economic potential and this extra funding could make a real difference,” she said.
Fife has already received £1.3 million to date and analysis suggests that every £1 invested generates up to £8 benefit locally.
