Burntisland youngster Colin O’Hara was promoted from primary three pupil to head teacher.
The youngster won the chance to take the reins of the new Burntisland Primary School in a raffle on Tuesday.
He took over the role – and desk – of usual head Julie Anderson and told pupils to call him Master O’Hara during his time in the hot seat.
Colin was most excited about getting to use the school tannoy system and ringing the bell but he also had the responsibility of examining the playground with the janitor and inspecting the work of primary six pupils.
Mrs Anderson said: “He’s super excited.
“He’s going to get to do dinner duty and call everyone in for lunch.”
Asked how she would spend her afternoon off, she joked: “I think I’ll just be sitting with my feet up somewhere else.”
The school, which opened in August 2014, ran the raffle to raise money for playground improvements.
