Firefighters in St Andrews tackled a gorse fire near the East Sands Leisure Centre early on Wednesday morning.
Four appliances were called out to an area measuring 150 metres by 40 metres near the coastline at around 7.30am, with personnel from the Scottish Fire and
Rescue Service surrounding the shrubbery which was alight.
Two crews from St Andrews and two crews from Cupar arrived on the scene, which was also near the caravan park at Kinkell Braes, and quickly had the fire under control.
Some firefighters stayed back to dampen down areas, and the fire crews were given the go ahead to return to their stations shortly after 9am.
