Glenrothes and Central Fife MP Peter Grant has been appointed treasurer of the SNP Westminster group at its AGM.
Mr Grant is a qualified accountant with a background in public sector finance.
Speaking about his new responsibilities within the group, he said: “I was surprised but honoured to be asked by SNP Group Leader Angus Robertson to take on this role. As the third biggest party in the House of Commons the SNP group receives funds to pay for researchers and for other permitted functions. We are committed to ensuring that these funds are properly used and accounted for, and I look forward to assisting with this task.”
