One of the world’s premier aerobatic display teams is set to visit the St Andrews Links Trophy at the Home of Golf this weekend.
As some of the world’s leading amateur golfers compete for the Links Trophy, which got underway on the New Course on Friday, the budding stars will be joined by the Red Arrows as they perform one of their famous fly overs across the Links on Saturday evening.
Representing the speed, agility and precision of the RAF, the team is the public face of the service and is renowned and revered for their remarkable aerobatic displays.
Flying distinctive Hawk jets, the team is made up of pilots, engineers and essential support staff with frontline, operational experience.
Links Trophy tournament director John Grant said: “We are delighted that the Red Arrows will visit the Home of Golf on Saturday evening.
“With the forecast looking favourable for golf at the Links Trophy this weekend it promises to be a great spectacle for the golfers and members of the public who wish to come down and catch a glimpse of them.
“We have the biggest number of nationalities ever represented at the Links Trophy this week, it is truly an International field with many great golfers competing from Australia, South Africa, France, Spain and around the world.
“And closer to home we have Scotland’s Walker Cup winners Grant Forrest and Euan Ferguson taking part, so it’s a great chance to come along and see these talented golfers up close.”
The Red Arrows are expected to fly overhead at around 6.15pm, weather permitting.
