The vessel got into trouble between a quarter and half of a mile from Anstruther Harbour on Friday. The alarm was raised and a call for assistance was received by Anstruther Lifeboat crew. The East Neuk station’s inshore lifeboat was launched just before 2.30pm. The yacht was towed back to Anstruther to allow it to undergo repairs. It is not clear how many people were on board the vessel when it got into trouble in the Firth of Forth. A yacht aground in the harbour mouth was also assisted by the Anstruther crew on Wednesday as the inshore lifeboat returned from an exercise.
