A fresh appeal for help in catching the killer of a Kirkcaldy father has been issued a week after his death.
Darren Adie, 42, was found unconscious and dying in the town’s Tweed Avenue on Saturday, May 28.
He passed away later in Victoria Hospital.
As the murder inquiry continues Police Scotland has urged anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area that evening to tell them.
Detectives also want to speak urgently to anyone who anyone who saw Mr Adie in the area, in Kirkcaldy’s Gallatown, prior to his death.
It is believed there were people in Tweed Avenue and nearby streets who may have information which could help the inquiry.
Police officers will carry out high visiblity patrols on Saturday evening around where Mr Adie was found at around 6.45pm a week earlier, near the junction with Lawson Street.
Detective Chief Inspector Raymond Brown, of the Major Investigation Team, said: “It has now been one week since Darren’s murder and our dedicated team of detectives and local resources are continuing with their inquiries to find his killer.
“As part of our investigation uniformed officers will be out on patrol within Tweed Avenue and the surrounding area on Saturday evening to speak with local residents, and those who regularly frequent these streets, to identify anyone who may have vital information.
“If you believe you know or saw something then please speak to once of these officers while they were on patrol or visit our incident vehicle, which will be situated at the crime scene.
“Alternatively, anyone with information can contact us on 101 or make an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
Following his death, Mr Adie’s grieving family described him as a much loved son, brother and father who would be sorely missed.
One neighbour described seeing Mr Adie “just drop” in the street.
His death was initially classed as suspicious but police confirmed he had been murdered after a post mortem examination on Monday.
Darren is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall with a stocky, muscular build and short dark hair.
He was wearing a blue zip-up jacket, blue polo shirt and blue jeans.
