A 43-year-old man is expected to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court following a drugs raid in the town.
The man was been arrested and charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act following a substantial drugs recovery when police officers discovered a large quantity of heroin, with an estimated street value of £2,700, from an address on Pilmuir Street on Sunday.
Officers arrested and charged the man for various drug offences and he is expected to appear before Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Sergeant Neil McGurk who is based at Dunfermline police station said: “I’m pleased to say that after acting on vital intelligence officers from Police Scotland successfully prevented a substantial quantity of heroin from reaching our streets and communities.
“Tackling drug crime and arresting those involved in the distribution of these harmful substances is a priority for Police Scotland.
“I urge anyone who wants to report drug activity in their area to contact police on 101.
“I can assure the public that any information passed to us will be acted upon and treated with the utmost discretion.
