Police investigating the murder of a father in Kirkcaldy have made an appeal to trace seven people they believe can help with their enquiries.
Darren Adie was found found unconscious in Tweed Avenue at around 6.45 pm on Saturday May 28.
The 42-year-old was taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment but died from his injuries.
Officers investigating his death are keen to speak to two people who may have saw or talked to him prior to his murder.
They are urging someone known as ‘Kelly’ – who Mr Adie was seen shouting to between 6 pm and 6.30 pm in the Overton Mains area – to come forward.
Police also want to trace a man he may have spoken to in Spey Avenue between 6 pm and 6.30 pm.
He is described as being in his 40’s -with a balding or shaved head and of heavy build wearing a t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms.
Officers are also keen to speak to five people who were seen near where Mr Adie was found at around 6.45 pm.
They want to trace a male and female who were pushing a buggy in Tweed Avenue walking towards Napier Street.
They also want to speak to another man and woman spotted nearby.
The man is described as being in his late 20’s or early 30’s, 6ft tall and walked with a limp.
Police are also urging a slim-built man – who wearing a hooded sweatshirt – to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Raymond Brown said: “We are keen to speak to these individuals. We believe they may have seen Darren and may hold information that, although they may consider insignificant, could prove vital in identifying his killer.
“As such I would urge them to come forward and speak to the police as soon as possible.
“I’m asking them to please contact us on 101, or speak to an officer in the street.”
