A Fife community group has called on local people and businesses to rally round its plans to develop a new sports facility.
Kennoway Sports Association (KSA) has appealed for help in turning its vision of Cotlands Park into a reality after it received seven floodlight columns from Waid Academy via Fife Council.
KSA opened its £500,000 changing room facility back in 2010, but the group is now focused on turning a patch of land which is currently used as a car park into a new all-weather training pitch.
The initiative is likely to cost around at least £155,000 and, while KSA is exploring various avenues to secure funding, chairperson Bob McPhail has appealed for help from the local community to develop the site.
“The whole project will cost something like £155,000 plus VAT, but if there were local individuals or businesses who could volunteer their time and services then it would be a great help,” he said.
“It could be anything from someone with a JCB to help dig out the site, electricians, lorries, landscapers, a skip company, a fencing company to assist with metal fencing, concrete. Anything would make a huge difference.
“In return we would give them as much advertising as we could at the site.
“Kennoway has not only produced some amazing football players who have represented Scotland at different levels and professional clubs.
“Over 200 kids are training every week, but when it comes to the winter and the dark nights it becomes difficult.
