A major raid in Dunfermline saw almost half a million pounds worth of drugs seized on Friday, police have revealed.
Acting on intelligence from the public, officers swooped on an address in the Birrell Drive area of the town where officers recovered around 7000 diazepam tablets, 5kg of herbal cannabis, 3.5kg of diamorphine and 2kg of cocaine.
All in, the haul of class A and B drugs have an estimated street value of at least £488,000.
Superintendent Ricky Ness, of the Specialist Crime Division, said: “Thanks to some excellent work by local officers and specialist resources from across the east, these drugs will no longer be able to make their way onto our streets.
“The success of this recovery would not have been possible without information from the public, which is why it’s vital that the community continue to tell us about their concerns or suspicious behaviour in their neighbourhood.
“Police Scotland is committed to acting on all the intelligence we receive, and if you have information about the supply or use of drugs I’d urge you to contact us on 101 or make an anonymous report through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
A 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman have been arrested and are expected to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Monday.
