A woman has appealed for help in tracing a “big strapping youngster” and a friendly lady who came to her holidaying father’s aid last week.
Julie Smith took to social media in a bid to find the man who came to her 83-year-old dad Roy Adams’ rescue following a fall on Saturday June 4.
Mrs Smith admitted it was something of a “needle in a haystack” job to find the saviours, but she hopes someone, somewhere will recognise the tale.
“My dad Roy and his wife have just returned from spending a week in Scotland,” she explained.
“The first day they were there, in the region of St Andrews, my dad stumbled and fell in the middle of a road.
“A lady stopped her car to help my Dad’s wife get him up from the fall but their efforts were unsuccessful.
“Shortly after, a gentleman pulled over on his motorbike, who was in my dad’s words, ‘a big strapping youngster’.
“He asked the women to return to the roadside where they were safe, before he then proceeded to lift my Dad to safety as if he were as light as sandpaper, making sure he was OK afterwards.
“If the lovely lady or gentleman sees this message, both myself and my brother owe you a heartfelt ‘Thank you’.
“We are extremely grateful for what you did to help our elderly Dad. Bless you both.”
The appeal on social media has already been widely shared by people in and around the St Andrews area.
