A man is recovering in hospital following a stabbing incident in Kirkcaldy on Tuesday evening.
Police were called to the town’s Cairns Street West at around 6.50pm and discovered a 56-year-old man suffering from what has been described as a “serious injury”.
The victim was taken to Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital for further treatment, and a 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack.
He is expected to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court in due course.
There had been reports of a heavy police presence in and around the area near Pathhead Primary School and Westwood Avenue late on Tuesday night.
No further details about the injured man’s condition have been released.
