A man has been reported to the procurator fiscal after a gun was allegedly fired at a house in Kirkcaldy earlier this year.
Detectives have been investigating the incident that took place in Craigfoot Walk on Thursday May 19 and have identified a 27-year-old whom they would like to speak to in connection with the alleged attack.
It is understood that the suspect is currently in the Republic of Ireland, and Police Scotland is liaising with Interpol, the Guarda and the Crown Office to trace and arrest the 27-year-old man pinpointed.
Detective Inspector Colin Robson, from Fife’s Proactive Unit, said: “Thankfully no one was injured as a result of this incident but I recognise the impact that this had on the local community and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their understanding and co-operation during the course of the investigation, which has now resulted in a male being reported to the procurator fiscal.
“We are now in the process of progressing the matter alongside various partner agencies.
“Police Scotland treats all reports of firearms offences with the utmost seriousness and, whenever crimes of this nature occur, we will conduct a thorough investigation to bring those responsible to justice.”
