A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault carried out in Dunfermline town centre earlier this month.
At around 3:30am on Sunday, July 3, a 34-year-old man sustained a serious head injury following an altercation with another male on St Margaret Street near Dunfermline Library.
The injured male was transferred to Victoria Hospital for treatment and was later discharged.
A public appeal for information was issued and officers from Fife CID have now arrested a man.
Detective Sergeant Kieran Marsh of Police Scotland said: “Following our earlier appeal for information, with assistance of members of the public, we have traced a man in connection with this incident and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
“I would like to thank the local community for their help during this inquiry.”
