Sentimental locket found after T in the Park

The Courier is hoping to help reunite a T in the Park reveller with a precious piece of jewellery.

Fifer Claire Rodgers, 29, who was volunteering at the Perthshire festival, found a beautiful silver locket as she was helping dismantle showers.

While the piece of jewellery itself may be of great sentimental value, what is contained within appears to be even more of a precious keepsake.

For enclosed inside are what appear to be treasured portraits of family members.

These include images of an older man and a young woman, perhaps the father and a sister of the locket’s owner.

Hoping to be able to reunite the piece of jewellery with its rightful owner, she has asked The Courier to help.

The staff nurse with NHS Fife was helping out in the Refresh area of TITP this year.

She explained this is a pamper area for festival goers, with showers, flushing toilets and hair washing stations and hairdryers.

Just what the crowds who have braved the rain and mud needed.

But on Monday, as the team were in dismantling the area, Claire found the locket underneath one of the showers.

“It looks like it is silver, but apart from that value, it looks like it has huge sentimental value as well,” she said.

With thousands passing through the pampering area every day, the owner of the oval locket could come from near or far.

“I would really like to be able to hand it back to the owner,” she said.

“We were doing the breakdown – dismantling the area – on Monday when there was no lost and found available to hand it in.

“I wanted to be a bit more proactive, and try to find its owner.

“It is clearly something that they hold dear to them,” she added.

Claire has shown two pictures from the locket, but it contains something else the rightful owner will be able to describe.

Anyone who thinks the locket belongs to them can get in touch with Claire via The Courier at kirkcaldy@dcthomson.co.uk.
