Three people including a girl aged seven have been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a three-car smash in Fife.
A Jaguar S-Type, BMW 3251 and Citroen C2 were all involved in the collision which happened on the B921 at around 2.30pm between Kinglassie and Cardenden.
The male driver of the BMW sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh by air ambulance.
The 62-year-old female driver of the Citroen and a seven-year-old girl travelling in the car also sustained serious injuries and were taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.
The accident sparked a full-scale emergency response.
Four others received minor injuries – the 75-year-old man driving the Jaguar, two passengers in the BMW and a second passenger in the Citroen.
Inspector Brenda Sinclair from the Road Policing Unit in Glenrothes said:
“I would ask anyone who was on the road at the time and witnessed the collision to contact us immediately.
“In addition, anyone with any further information relevant to our inquiries should also get in touch.”
