A man who died following a disturbance at a restaurant in Inverkeithing has been named locally.
Mohammed Salim Uddin, 44, was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy following the incident on Friday.
He died a short time later from his injuries.
Police and paramedics went to the scene at the Gulshan restaurant on High Street shortly after 4.30pm following reports of a disturbance.
Parts of the area were cordoned off by officers as an investigation was launched.
There was also a large police presence at the nearby train station.
A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death and was due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Monday.
Officers are continuing to investigate but have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
Floral tributes for Mr Salim Uddin have been placed outside the Indian and Bengali restaurant, which remains closed.
Tributes have also been paid to Mr Salim Uddin, who was originally from Bangladesh but had been living in Fife.
An appeal to help trace his family was also shared on social media.
Mohammed Kadir wrote: “Salim Uddin lived in Scotland, Fife, he died today. He from Bianibazar, Sylhet.
“Anyone know about Salim or his family members please contact me or Fife police station.”
A police vehicle remained close to the scene on Monday.
