A man has been taken to hospital and two people have been arrested after an alleged stabbing in Glenrothes.
A large area of grass near Glamis Avenue in the Pitteuchar area of the town was taped off on Tuesday morning as officers investigated the attack on nearby Beaufort Drive.
The cordon has now been removed, with officers seen going door to door as part of their investigation.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 12.10 am on Tuesday, a 30-year old man was found with serious injuries following a disturbance on Beaufort Drive, Glenrothes.
“He was taken to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee where he is currently being treated for stab wounds. Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.
“A 28-year-old man and 33-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident.”
Two police vehicles were at the scene on Tuesday, with officers standing guard near an alley connecting several properties which face on to Beaufort Drive.
Officers searching area outside homes
One resident told The Courier: “There was a large area cordoned off and I saw one officer standing at an alley between the homes.
“There are two police units here at the moment but no one seems to be aware of what has gone on.”
A woman who lives nearby said officers were searching an area outside one of the properties before they began searching within the cordon.
She said: “I only saw the police arrive earlier today.
“I didn’t see or hear anything overnight and they seem to be looking around the area outside that house.”
