The accident happened on the stretch of road between junctions two and three, between Masterton and Halbeath, shortly before 7pm. Only one car was involved in the incident on the northbound carriageway. Fire crews helped free the female driver from her car, which had overturned. She was given oxygen at the scene by the fire crew before being taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.
