Hundreds of positive cases of Covid-19 were recorded across Fife on Saturday.
Local statistics showed that 253 new cases were confirmed in the kingdom, as well as one new death.
Yesterday seven Covid deaths were recorded in Fife, more than any other local authority Scotland.
Fife’s seven day case rate per 100,000 people was 403.09 on Thursday, increasing to 412.3 on Saturday.
The latest public health data shows that Scotland recorded 2,581 new coronavirus cases on Saturday, representing 9.5% of the daily tests.
This has increased from 8.2% of all tests on Friday, however national case numbers have decreased slightly from 2,762.
This is because more tests were reported on Friday, giving a lower percentage.
Across the country, 21 people have died following a positive test. This has decreased from Friday, when there were 32 new reported deaths.
Daily data from the Scottish government showed that 841 people were in hospital with recently confirmed Covid, with 47 in intensive care.
One person died in Perth and Kinross, but there were no new deaths in Dundee and Angus.
The seven-day case rate in Angus was 308.1, Perth and Kinross sat at 258.6 and Dundee’s was 390.4.
The case rates for Dundee and Angus have dropped slightly, while Perth and Kinross has experienced a very small increase from 254.03.
So far, 4,282,132 people have received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccination and 3,875,966 have their a second jag.
Elderly people across Dundee recently complained of long queues for the vaccine centre, which opened on Monday and offered booster jags to over 70s.
